How High Should Parking Signs be?

Signs are approximately 12” across by 18” in height and they are mounted at a height of 6' to be visible above the hood of a car or truck.

Is a handicap spot legal without a sign?

There are no regulations about symbols painted on the pavement. However, ADA sign regulations do require you to have an actual sign denoting a handicap parking spot.

What are the required parking lot signs?

Signage requirements differ by state and municipality. Common signs include handicap parking signs, firelane signs, "no parking" signs, customer parking signs, directional signs, speed limit signs, stop signs and pedestrian parking signs.
